Undeniably Neil: Every Writer Needs Revision

A Lighter Side

Back in high school, which was last century, and I don't mean the turn of the century, I wrote a humor column for our school newspaper, The Traveler. That column was called Undeniably Neil. This was back when I thought I wanted to be a male Erma Bombeck, but then Dave Barry took that job and I moved on to other things.

And, okay, I have close to a gazillion blogs already, but sometimes there are things I think about posting that doesn't fit any of the stated purposes of those blogs. Does this fit the performance blog? Not really. Does this fit the arts writing blog? Nope. Is Jesus even tangentially involved with this? Well, if I really stretch it, maybe, because it's all about Jesus (okay, kinda sorta not really), but not everything has to be about Jesus. Overtly.

What I'm saying, is that I have a lot of loose ends floating around my brain that maybe could find a home somewhere. And so I thought resurrecting (Jesus content!) the Undeniably Neil name would serve.

Not that this will be a humor column. I intend to keep it light, but I'm allowing myself the leeway to do things that aren't funny. They just won't have to do with Jesus or art. Overtly.
